Without a well-designed church website, it’s tough to reach people effectively in today’s world. When my church didn’t have a strong website, I ran into these struggles often:
- Administrative overload—managing the website became a time-consuming task, pulling focus away from ministry work.
- Declining website effectiveness—new faces at services dropped because our site wasn’t inviting or easy to find.
- Endless tech frustrations—keeping the site updated felt impossible without dedicated support, leaving us with an outdated look.
I realized that our website needed to be more accessible and engaging, and that’s why I’m sharing this roundup of top church Squarespace websites.
Squarespace offers a user-friendly design platform that makes it easy to create a clean, modern site—one that’s simple to update and helps your church connect with more people online.
(Incidentally, Squarespace is one of the dozens of options we researched and compared in our review of the best church website-building tools available today. This web-building platform stands out due to strategic advantages like simplified updates and management.)

20+ Inspiring Squarespace Church Websites
I have compiled a list of over 20 inspiring Squarespace church websites for you. I love these examples because they have a welcoming online presence and showcase different design styles — from simple layouts to highly interactive sites with bold visuals.
Northside Church
As soon as this site opens, it feels like you’ve been transported to Northside Church. With its clean, modern design and full-feature sermon and event pages — this website has everything a church needs to enhance engagement (i.e., connect with your site visitors). The sermons page allows you to scroll through all of their sermons, based on topic/date, with visuals for each one.
Canyon Ridge Christian Church
Its high-quality images, warm color palette, and community-focused messaging draw you in. This website brings a modern twist to the square layout, with great pictures and video to highlight personal testimonials, a message from the pastor, and more.
Super-user friendly, Canyon Ridge makes sure ministries, church beliefs, sermons and groups/church services are all easily accessible right from the home page.
Radiant Church
Radiant Church uses warm colors, inspirational stories and a clear CTA: see service times and locations, so you can come to church. Right off the bat, they share their mission statement, inspiring personal testimonials and ways for you to take your next steps.
Their homepage manages to balance a fair bit of relevant content with a clean design so you don’t get overwhelmed.
ZEAL Church
Zeal Church has a bold, minimalistic design, powerful CTA, and a vibrant color scheme that draws visitors in. Their home screen’s main CTA is simply ‘visit Zeal’. If you’re gonna have a church website, it’s probably because you want to draw more local people to do just that — come to your church.
I love that they emphasize glorifying Jesus on the homepage, and essentially invite you into connecting with their church mission statement.
Saints Church
Modern and visitor-friendly design, this church website has simple, intuitive navigation. It features scrolling video footage on the homepage so you get a feel for the worship experience, kids program, baptism services, and general church vibe.
A feature that I found pretty striking is their menu, which highlights:
- Who we are (vision, values, statement of beliefs)
- Jesus (a whole page about who Jesus is, and why to follow Him — sweeeeet!)
- Locations (their different locations so you can find one close to you)
Crossroads Community Church
Crossroads Church accents their site with green and has a friendly, cohesive feel and design. They have a big emphasis on people and the different ministries that help connect people. Their main CTA is to join them for a service — a great focus for any church website.
The Father’s House OC
With its fun, city-inspired visuals and dynamic, community-focused homepage, TFH is an excellent example of a modern and engaging website.
The vibe is hip, and the navigation is clear so a visitor can find anything they need, including:
- Sunday morning service info (online and in-person)
- Ways to give
- Contact info
- Events
Side note: I loved how this church describes anyone who volunteers as part of their HOME TEAM!
Five Oaks Church
I love the streamlined navigation, event calendar, and community focus here. Five Oaks church shows that it wants to support busy families by helping them plan their visit (including pre-registering kids — how smart!) and connect with the church community.
The common theme throughout is helping new people get plugged in, with compelling CTA's to help people decide if this church is the right place for them.
Oasis Church
Oasis Church’s website has a super minimalist layout. It prioritizes its key messaging without distractions. Their main CTA draws in visitors (“Are you new?”) to explore the page and come out on a Sunday morning. They even have an Oasis Guide so you can get to know the church.
RISEN Church
I love the welcoming one-page layout of RISEN Church — complete with accessible service information for new visitors. They use stunning photography of the Hollywood Hills to their advantage here. The website is clean, easy-to-navigate, and compelling. This is definitely geared towards connecting with new people (check out the two simple CTA buttons!)
Council Road Baptist Church
The Council Road Baptist Church site stands out with clean design and a simple, front-of-centre message: you belong here! It isn’t busy, or distracting. The homepage is uncomplicated and geared towards the user coming to visit. The main CTAs are what to expect from a visit, and their service times (and styles!) — all of it points towards reaching new people and building community.
Bonus: simple menu items provide a way for visitors to find any other info they’re looking for.
Mosaic Church
Warm, welcoming, and clean, Mosaic Church has good design and solid messaging. They share their vision right on the homepage and invite users to plan their visit.
At first glance, you find everything you need: Sunday service times and locations, how to connect if you’re new, and what the church is all about. Their fun design is an excellent example of having a fresh look without sacrificing core content. They do a great job of reaching new people.
Bay Hope Church
Bay Hope Church website demonstrates a different vibe than most church websites—almost newspaper-like. The site is still welcoming and community-centred, and features everything a visitor may need to know.
Bay Hope balances connecting with new folks and helping members stay plugged in.
Calvary Community Church
With its bright layout, welcoming images of real connections, and inviting messaging (“live and love like Jesus”), it really just makes you want to come check out a sunday morning, or one of their many events.
The website features a primary call to action: join us for church. How else does a new person get a feel for the people, community and heart of a congregation?
Renew Church OC
I love the white space here. This website boasts a minimalist design that’s easy-on-the-eyes, and just as easy to navigate.
Renew Church's site is a welcome change from the scrolling videos most other churches tend to use. They effectively communicate their core value/vibe, “we are a church for imperfect people only”, and show new people exactly how to connect.
They also do a great job of highlighting how to give. (tip: you should always have a way for people to give right on your website).
The Life Church
The Life Church website has bold colors that make everything standout, without being too busy. They feature their worship band and senior pastor on the homepage so you can get a feel for what their sunday mornings are like. Your attention is immediately drawn to their service times, learning more about the church, and how to give.
Holy Sepulchre London
Clean and white, the HSL website effortlessly looks modern, and yet honours the rich history of this historic building. They clearly communicate their vision and their many service times. Visitors can easily find everything they need to know to come to visit, with a particular emphasis on the many musical events they host as home to the National Musicians’ Church.
Pathway Church
Bold graphics and a bright, cohesive colour scheme help this website standout. Pathway’s main CTAs focus on connecting people to their church and inviting them into worshiping, serving and growing together. Because of the bold accent colour choice, CTAs and buttons really stand out, drawing the user to click through and explore.
Gas Street Church
Gas Street Church is another website that uses white space really well. They use clear copy and beautiful graphics to focus the visitor’s attention on their message: come join us. They use squares to feature sections like messages, community, connection, and events. Everything about their website is clean and uncomplicated and really focuses on connection and engagement.
Heritage Church
Clean, bold and simple. Heritage Church places all the emphasis on the power of an invitation, with CTAs inviting website users to visit, visit, visit! This website is easy-to-read and informative
(without feeling cluttered), so a visitor can find just about anything they need right on the homepage.
And as I’ve mentioned several times already (maybe because it’s so important?), they also have a how to give online section right on the main page.

With its drag-and-drop design tools, Squarespace allows you to customize to your heart’s content — without needing the big wig technical skills. This makes it perfect for creating a polished, engaging presence.
But it’s not just about the ease of use, it’s about the impact. Your site needs to leave an impression on visitors:

Missional Marketing
1) Squarespace Simplifies Web Design for Busy Church Leaders
Jeremy Basham, founder of Church Design Co, is a worship pastor and web designer who helps leaders build their dream websites with Squarespace. In his tutorial for developing church websites, he writes:
The best church websites are more than features and design. It’s also about how churches organize and present their content to reach new visitors and connect with current members.
Squarespace is made for busy leaders (and their equally busy teams) who don’t have time for complex technical setups. Essentially, you don’t need a degree in website creation and design to use it.
The platform’s drag-and-drop interface and ready-to-use templates mean you can quickly create a polished site, freeing up more time for ministry and community engagement. This simplicity aligns with the goals most of us have of focusing on outreach, rather than struggling with web design.
With an easy platform like this, there are just six easy steps to creating your church website.

2) Squarespace Is An All-in-One Platform with Built-In Features
Squarespace combines website creation, hosting, security, and marketing tools. This makes it ideal for churches looking to manage everything in one place. It also means that you and your team spend less time, money and mental energy managing the ins and outs.
An all-in-one platform streamlines tasks, like updating event calendars or integrating online giving, helping pastors better connect with their congregations and support their church’s mission.
Josh Wierenga, founder of Clearpath Church Communication, helps churches achieve communication excellence. He chimes in on the discussion about churches choosing Squarespace as their platform:
Churches have a lot to consider when choosing a website platform. It’s a lot of work and a big investment. But when presented with the options, churches often realize Squarespace, while not created for churches, is a beautiful, powerful, practical and affordable platform to become the welcome mat for new people interested in visiting their church.
3) No Coding Required (Perfect for Non-Tech Pastors!)
No programming knowledge is needed to create or maintain a Squarespace website, making it perfect for pastors who prefer focusing on spiritual leadership, rather than learning HTML (unless you love it…in which case, good on you, I guess).
Customizing a site is incredibly straightforward, and you can choose what gets highlighted on your homepage, like:
- Sunday mornings
- Sermons
- Programs
- Upcoming Events
- Next steps
- Visitor info
Five Features YOUR Church Squarespace Website Needs
When it comes to online presence, churches these days need to have a good website and a solid handle on their social media marketing.
Marketing experts also argue that you should have an email marketing strategy too, because people, companies and organizations lose their social media accounts from time to time (hackers, censorship, etc.).
Whichever platforms you use, remember that they aren’t just extra work you have to do — they are a means to serving people well, connecting with new people, and advancing your church’s mission.
Your platforms aren’t extra work you have to do — they help you do the real work of serving people, connecting with new people, and advancing your church’s mission.
Now let’s get down to business. Here are the five key features your website needs. Focus on these, and you’ll be thanking yourself when you hit that ‘publish’ button on your new site!
1) Intuitive Navigation
Your goal with navigation is to make it so intuitive that a new site visitor doesn’t get overwhelmed by information.
Visitors need to quickly find important info, like service times, contact info, ministries, and upcoming events. Your website should also have a simple and easy-to-use navigation menu (emphasis on simple).
Clear navigation ensures new and returning guests can easily scroll through the site, find what they need in seconds — and get a welcoming first impression.
2) Sermon Pages with Media Embeds
Having a dedicated section for sermons is essential. Squarespace allows for easy media embedding, so you can upload:
- Audio
- Video
- Links to platforms like YouTube or Vimeo
This feature helps members catch up on missed messages, study a sermon series to promote spiritual growth, and ultimately extend your church’s reach beyond Sunday services.
3) Event Management and Registration Tools
Churches have events going on all the time, whether they’re church-wide gatherings, Bible studies, youth night, or community outreach programs.
Squarespace’s built-in event tools let you create event pages, add RSVPs, and manage registrations. This makes it easy for attendees to sign up and stay informed, streamlining the organization and planning process. It also automates the process, saving your team precious time.
You can even create a Church Event Calendar in Google Calendar, and then add Google Calendar to your website in just a few steps, allowing users to add church events to their own calendar.
Squarespace also has the option of using their native Calendar Blocks for your events. Calendar Blocks are so flexible that they can be used to display blogs, photo galleries and more.
4) Mobile-Responsive Design for On-the-Go Users
Let’s be honest, most of us spend more time browsing the internet on our phones than on our computers.
A mobile-responsive website is like good church presentation software — it enhances the user’s experience, improves communication, and increases engagement. People close the tab on bad websites, so let’s make sure yours stays open.
A mobile-responsive design ensures your site looks good and functions properly on any device. Squarespace automatically creates mobile-friendly websites (yup, one less thing to worry about), and adjusts the site’s layout for different screen sizes so you’re good to go.
5) Donation Pages and Tithing Integration
Squarespace allows you to set up secure donation pages where members can tithe or give special offerings. Having a simple, user-friendly way to give online supports your church’s financial needs and encourages your members to give regularly. (you may even get a random donation from a generous site visitor who loves what you’re about!).
Integrating online giving is crucial. I think all churches should have this option (who are we, afterall, to be a barrier between someone’s desire to give?). IMO, there should always be a ‘give’ button in the menu, and a simple, easy-to-navigate church donation page.
This example from The Father’s House OC doesn’t just have a give button — here they have a grow your faith feature, inviting people to partner with them in monthly donations. How strategic!
Frequently Asked Questions About Squarespace For Churches
How Can Squarespace Support Event Planning?
Squarespace can support event planning for churches by offering built-in tools like:
- Event pages
- Calendars
- Registration & RSVP forms
With the "Events" feature, you can create dedicated pages for upcoming services or special events, along with dates, times, and descriptions.
Squarespace also integrates with ticketing platforms, like Eventbrite, for events that require paid registrations, and allows adding countdown timers and email reminders to keep attendees informed and engaged. If you’ve been looking to offload the burden of event reminders from your admin team — voila!
How Much Does a Squarespace Church Website Cost?
Squarespace offers a cost-effective solution for churches looking to establish an online presence. The pricing structure revolves around the membership tiers that Squarespace provides:
- Personal $16USD/month
- Business $23USD/month
- Commerce $28USD/month
- Commerce Advanced $52USD/month
For churches needing more advanced tools, like member-only areas or donations, the Commerce plans are ideal, offering comprehensive e-commerce tools and more flexibility.
Tip: Squarespace also provides a 14-day free trial, allowing users to explore the platform before committing to a paid plan. Great option if you’re just getting started or comparing platforms.
Does Squarespace support live streaming?
Not directly. You'll need to embed a live stream from platforms like YouTube, or Facebook Live.
Can I create a members-only area on my Squarespace site?
Yes, the Member Areas feature lets you create gated content for your members, but it does come with added costs. It’s suitable for basic use, but it really depends on how complex your membership needs are.
Does Squarespace offer email marketing?
Yes, Squarespace Email Campaigns integrate with your site! However, it might not be as powerful as dedicated email services like Mailchimp or Flodesk.
Is Squarespace good for blogging?
Squarespace is user-friendly for bloggers, with features like scheduled posts, tagging, and categories. But it lacks some advanced customization options that WordPress provides.
Can Squarespace Handle Large Church Congregations?
Squarespace can definitely handle websites for large church congregations. It offers several features that make it suitable for churches of various sizes:
- Robust Content Management System (CMS): Squarespace's user-friendly CMS allows easy updates for all types of content.
- Integration Capabilities: it integrates well with church management systems like ChurchSuite and Planning Center, allowing for seamless embedding of features like event registration, group sign-ups, and member databases.
- Multimedia Support: Churches can easily embed sermon videos from platforms like YouTube, making it simple to maintain a sermon archive without overloading the website itself.
Keep in mind that Squarespace is best suited if you prioritize simplicity and a clean, aesthetic design without needing deeply custom or interactive features. If you expect to grow your digital presence with more complex needs, it may not be the right platform for your church.

What Are Squarespace’s Limitations?
Squarespace is honestly really awesome for ease of use, but it does have some limitations. Let’s take a quick look:
- Limited Customization: Compared to platforms like WordPress, it’s harder to customize the site beyond the available templates (unless you know how to code...ugh, no thanks, or have a resident web developer in your congregation!).
- Fewer Plugins: It doesn’t have the vast plugin ecosystem that other platforms like WordPress offer, so adding super niche features can be tricky. However, most churches find everything they need in SquareSpace's offerings.
- Cost: Squarespace is more expensive than some alternatives, especially for sites needing more advanced features, or e-commerce capabilities. Larger churches with more complex needs might find the higher-tier plans or Enterprise solutions necessary (which could increase costs).
- SEO Limitations: While it offers basic SEO tools, advanced SEO settings are somewhat limited compared to specialized platforms like WordPress. (pro tip: as a church — word-of-mouth and personal invitation are your main form of advertisement).
- Content Management: It’s not ideal for large sites with tons of content, as managing complex site structures can become difficult. Generally not an issue for most churches.
- Limited Integrations: While Squarespace has decent integrations, it doesn’t support as many third-party services or tools as other platforms, like WordPress.
For the average church website, these limitations are generally not deal-breakers because ease of use trumps the need for advanced features.
